Lashi Lake sits in the valley below Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, just under ten kilometers west of Lijiang Old Old Town. The lake was the first wetland area in Yunnan to placed under protection by the provincial government. Sitting at an altitude of 2,400 meters above sea level, it's waters host several dozen species of seasonally migrating birds.
